The first thing you'll notice about Mary Simon is her powerful voice, which has been compared to Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow. Simon wants to engage her audience and inspire them with music. "One of my biggest joys is when people are singing along," she says. "Music has the power to unify and heal".

Sandra Bouza

7:30pm, April 11, 2024
$20 to the artist
[email protected] to reserve a spot

Sandra has been singing and playing guitar from a very young age. Growing up variously in Canada and Spain, her influences are broad. During a residency at Halls Island last summer she wrote most of the material for her upcoming album, ’A Sound in the Dark.’

“This record is truly me - more me than I have ever been able to give up to this point.  With the new songs, I share more of myself than I have ever been able to do before.”

You can hear echoes of Etta James and Carla Thomas in Bouza’s powerful and highly nuanced phrasing.  Like Amy Winehouse and Adele, Sandra’s absorbed a lot from listening to the greats from the golden age of R and B, but like them, she has emerged with a style that is all her own.   Gifted with a masterful sense of poise and control, few singers can inhabit a vocal like Bouza. Taylor Abrahamse

February 3, 2024, 7:30pm (doors open at 7). $25 to the artist

Taylor Abrahamse seamlessly blends music, humour, and versatility in his performances, describing himself as a cross between Jim Carrey and Paul Simon. From his start as an Elvis impersonator at the age of five, to a diverse acting career—not to mention his stint as a finalist on Canadian Idol at the age of sixteen— Taylor’s ethos has been one of playfulness.

Abrahamse’s debut studio album, released in 2020, combines classic '70s songwriting with a contemporary perspective to exploring themes of activism, depression, and gender identity—topics which he continues to explore through his most recent releases.

Taylor has also ventured into the world of musicals and collaborates with established hitmakers, including Hawksley Workman, Max Parker, The Accidentals, Nice Horse, and others. His music has graced film and TV projects, and he shares his expertise by teaching songwriting and animated voice acting.
